Dr. Vernon Burger II
Dr. Vernon Burger II is a Spiritual Director and Counselor in the tradition of Jesus. He has provided spiritual direction for a wide array of people from business leaders to pastors to people working through grief to those who just generally want to grow spiritually, along with a multiplicity of other backgrounds. He has over two decades of experience. Vernon is ordained and received his PhD in History of Ideas (concentrations in history, theology, philosophy, and literature, specifically poetry). His PhD dissertation focus was on the biblical tradition of lament and how this is meant to inform and strengthen our life of faith. Vernon is also currently in the DMin program for Spiritual Formation and Leadership at Portland Seminary. In addition to his Spiritual Direction Practice, He founded and runs His Voice Global, a non-profit that raises up leaders among the vulnerable in East Africa. Vernon is a husband and a father of three sons.
Amber is married to Vernon and together they are raising their three boys, Titus, Justus and Silas. Amber and Vernon founded and run His Voice Global, a nonprofit providing food, shelter, education, and hope to vulnerable children and families throughout East Africa. While working for His Voice Global as the Communications & Partnership Director, Amber homeschools her boys, and is a life and wellness coach. For the past ten years one of her joys has been helping people be their healthiest, truest self. Amber is smart, creative and downright fun to be around. She loves books, food, travel adventures, a house full of great friends, and an even better cup of coffee. She has a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Southwest Baptist University and has been trained and certified as a communications and life coach.
